Run & Gun Competition Overview
Welcome to the Run & Gun Competition
This event is designed to test your physical endurance, marksmanship, and gear reliability under dynamic conditions.

Date: Saturday, July 11

Time: 0800 – 1800

Location / Check-In: The Lodge (0800 sharp)

Ammunition Requirement: 100 rounds pistol / 100 rounds rifle (minimum)

Lodging: Complimentary on-site lodging is available at the Lodge for all competitors the night before (Friday) and the night after (Saturday) the event.
Required Packing List & Gear Specifications

All equipment will undergo a mandatory serviceability and safety inspection during the 0800 briefing.
1. Primary & Secondary Firearm Systems
-
Rifle: AR/AK platform (or equivalent) equipped with a minimum of four (4) magazines. Slings are highly recommended. Optics, weapon-mounted lights, and lasers are permitted.

Handgun: Semi-automatic pistol equipped with a minimum of three (3) magazines.
2. Load-Bearing Equipment

Rigid Holster / Kit: A "Battle Belt," plate carrier, LBE, TAPS, or dedicated holster capable of securely retaining the handgun during rigorous physical activity (running, jumping, crawling).

Capacity: Your kit must allow you to securely carry at least three (3) pistol magazines and four (4) rifle magazines simultaneously.
3. Sustenance & Hydration

Hydration System: A body-worn water source (CamelBak, canteen, Nalgene, etc.) is required on your person at all times. Water re-supply stations will be positioned along the course.
4. Ruck / 3-Day Pack Requirements

Base Weight: Minimum of 25 lbs. Packs will be weighed at both the start and the conclusion of the competition.

Weight Restrictions: The 25-lb minimum weight excludes your primary water source (though water may be stored inside the pack).

Recommended Ruck Contents: First aid/trauma kit, foot care/blister kit, extra socks, or a sandbag to meet weight requirements.
5. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) & Apparel

Safety Gear: Mandatory eye and ear protection.

Clothing: Durable, athletic apparel suitable for high-intensity movement and shooting. Shorts are permissible; tactical gloves are highly recommended.

Footwear: Rugged boots or athletic trail shoes with proper arch support suitable for both rucking and sprinting.

Weather Gear: Pack high-quality raingear. The weather is neutral, and operations will continue through inclement weather.
Pro-Tips for Competitors
TCCC Readiness: Know how to properly self-apply and stage a combat tourniquet.
Adaptability: Be prepared for battlefield pick-ups. You never know when you might have to operate an unfamiliar weapon system.

Keep in mind you will be running, jumping, crawling, climbing and shooting in your kit. Camelbacks are strongly encouraged.
